Holiday Playschemes Launched by Young Manchester
Young Manchester is pleased to announce it has commissioned holiday Playschemes, happening in key parts of the city over the holiday periods, kicking off on Monday 23rd July.
The fund, which also covers the Easter 2019 holiday period, sought to complement the all year round play offer in Manchester.
Through funding open access Playschemes, we will:
- increase the number of play activities over holiday periods, in priority areas of the city where there is less provision.
- increase the numbers of disabled children accessing play services.
- increase access to high quality outdoor play opportunities, with particular focus on play opportunities in parks, streets and open spaces.
Young Manchester is passionate about giving children and young people the opportunity to play. Open access playschemes are a fantastic way for children to make new friends, stay active and learn through doing over the school holidays.
Overall, 20 Playschemes funded by Young Manchester will be happening across the following wards:
Hulme, Moss Side, Miles Platting & Newton Heath, Sharston, Ardwick, Longsight, Old Moat, Cheetham, Baguley, Woodhouse Park, Rusholme, Gorton & Abbey Hey, Harpurhey, Chorlton Park, Northenden, Ancoats & Beswick, Burnage.
