Mapping the City of Social Action: Invitation to Tender

We’re commissioning a report to map youth social action across the city

Social action has always been at the heart of Manchester – the city has a long history of social justice and activism, right up to the community-led action and protests over the last year. We are keen to get a clear understanding of what social action led by young people looks like in 2021 – what is happening, by who, on what and how.

We want to understand the breadth and depth of  youth social action across the city, and identify opportunities for us to do more. The research project seeks to map current activity, across formal and informal spaces, as well as showcasing examples of great youth-led social action in the city which is making a real difference to the lives of young people and communities.

We’re looking for creative ways of approaching and presenting this work including through photography, visual mapping and written reporting. To find out more, check out the project brief here or contact
