Simone Spray becomes Young Manchester’s Interim Chair
We are delighted to announce that Simone Spray is stepping up to be Interim Chair of the Board of Trustees for the next 12 months to help with the implementation of our new strategy and guide the charity during this exciting stage of our development.
Simone is the Chief Executive of 42nd Street, an inspiring young people’s mental health charity based in central Manchester. The charity supports 1000’s of young people each year with their emotional wellbeing and mental health promoting young person centred approaches, social action and creativity. Having worked to promote social justice with children, young people, families and communities for over 20 years, she previously worked across the public sector in Greater Manchester and held national roles at Save the Children and Keep Britain Tidy.
With Simone’s support, Young Manchester will be well placed to put a recruitment process in place over the next 12 months to recruit a permanent Chair.
Simone is taking over from Nigel Wilson, who has taken on the role of CEO at Gentoo Housing in Sunderland.
